East Sooke Fire Protection and Emergency Response Service Commission
(Short title: East Sooke Fire Commission)

Are you looking for information on firefighter training standards?Visit the Office of the Fire Commissioner to see the full explanation of firefighter training standards.
Within this document are definitions of the three different service levels that are declared by each fire department, based on a number of factors, including the training levels of each firefighter.
As a summary, The British Columbia Office of the Fire Commissioner identifies three service levels for fire departments in the province:
Exterior Operations
Firefighting activities are limited to outside the building or object, and outside of any immediately dangerous to life and health (IDLH) environment.
Interior Operations
Firefighting activities include entering structures to control or extinguish a fire. This requires specialized protective equipment and procedures.
Full Service Operations
Activities are undertaken by firefighters and officers trained in the full spectrum of competencies.

Meetings of the Commission are held every fourth Wednesday of the month, 7 pm.
Our meetings are open to the public and we encourage the community to attend.
Please note we will not be holding a meeting (originally set for December 25th) in December.
